| 内容記述 | In this article, I refer to the feeling, “I am doing something with this person now,” as the “mode of co-presence” following the study by Kimura (1996), and attempt an analysis on time and space where the “mode of co-presence” is felt while using words from modern Japanese as clues that may arouse this feeling. It is also possible to avoid the “mode of co-presence” even when there are others in the physical space extremely close to oneself. Conversely, it is possible to feel “I am doing something with this person now” through the use of “objects” (cell phones, PC, etc.) even when one is spatially away from others. When we observe the modern Japanese language, there are expressions which confirm the existence of the “mode of co-presence” in the past and those which seem to indicate that it exists in time and space continuing to the future rather than the time and space of the present. These “modes of co-presence” can also exclude others while at the same time they can reinforce a community. Locality is also related to this. This article will elucidate the time and space for the “mode of co-presence” based on language, behavior and locality. | |||||||||
